I wonder if your local scrapbooking shop would let you host an event there and donate the sales of all issues “Pink” to Susan G. Komen. It would be a tax deduction for their company and also, chances are that people will acquire more than just pink items. Even folks who do not typically scrapbook would participate because they believe in the cause. We have a local retailer that has a room and will let you sit at a table and use their cutting machines as long as you have purchased more than ten dollars worth of stuff. You could most likely locate a local deli to donate a sandwich tray or two and make it a complete day.
One more thought;
Those of us who scrap have all kinds of extras. I purchased a pack of 30 when all I required was two. You could host an occasion exactly where people bring their scrap booking extras and trade and share. You’ll have to make confident you have plenty of table space for folks to work and a number of stations for crickets and other implements. Have participants pay an entry fee of ten dollars and some kind of prepackaged food item. (This way folks aren’t so worried about cleanliness of others kitchens) like bags of chips and cookie trays and pizzas. This is some thing you could do as soon as a month.
Very good luck

You could go to a local church or recreation center as these places have conference rooms usually for a low cost, especially when it comes to causes such as yours. As for donating the money, there are many non-profit breast cancer awareness or finding a cure, The only name I know off the top of my head is the Susan B.Coman (sp?) Foundation. I hope this tad of info helped a little:)

I would start by considering how you can best help minimize the number of instances of cancer. Most fundraisers are supported by drug companies and other medical institutions that have a vested interest in treatment rather than prevention.
Nutritional researchers like Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr. and Dr. Neal Barnard and Dr. T. Colin Campbell have discovered a link between diet and cancer growth. Certain foods, like diary and other animal food products and flavor enhancers (excitotoxins) promote the growth of tumors.
The standard American diet has excess oils and animal proteins that cause most instances of cancer. We would have a small fraction of the cases of cancer if more people followed a healthier lifestyle. Although I am an atheist, I strongly suggestion is that you take a class from the Seventh Day Adventists called “Guarding your Heart.” You will learn how to eat a healthy whole foods diet that will sustain you and make you feel more alert and alive.
Cancer has a cure, it is a radical improvement to diet and lifestyle. Being aware of a disease after it has a foot hold in your body seems like an incomprehensible approach to this disease. Prevention is more powerful than treatment.
