If you are planning an Otis Spunkmeyer or Chippery cookie dough sale for your next school fundraiser, there are 6 essential essential points to don’t forget when planning for it and running it. Do these just before the sale starts and have a smoother running and much more lucrative school fundraiser.
1. Ensure to give your students ample time to make their sales. It seems right now that the common selling time is two weeks, but this has not usually been the situation. When I started out in the school fundraising business in 1986, often we would start off a sale on Monday and end it on Friday. The theory being that most sales take place when the students are the most excited and that is at the starting of the sale. Producing it longer has genuinely not had as enormous impact on sales as 1 may feel. So… 2 weeks is quite a lot the standard promoting time these days, but if you discover that you don’t have 2 full weeks to “get it all in,” then that will function just as effectively.
two. Give your fundraising company at least a week before your sale starts to get your school fundraising supplies, brochures and promotional materials to you. That will enable you sufficient time to get anything set up without having rushing and leaving some tiny but important particulars left undone.
three. It is far better to end your sale on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Performing this makes it possible for students who forget to turn in their order form and cash on time to have the extremely next day to remember to bring it to school. If you end your sale on a Monday, it will appear that every person “forgot” about it, so most orders are turned in on Tuesday anyway.
4. Strategy on your products arriving in the third week following your order is turned in. Depending on where your school is located, it takes that extended for the manufacturer to make and pull your order and get it shipped to you on a refrigerated truck or pallet.
5. When planning your frozen product fundraiser, you want to allow 5-6 weeks from the time you commence your sale till the end of it, which is delivery day.
6. You don’t really want to program for storage of orders that are forgotten if you strategy ahead for your delivery day. There are several things you can do that will make sure that all of it is picked up on that all important day.
A.) Have stickers (supplied by some organizations) that the teachers “slap” on the students as they are leaving school the day prior to the delivery that says: “Cookie Dough Delivered Tomorrow.” The day of delivery one more sticker goes property “on” the student that says: “Pickup Your Order Today.”
B.) Put signs up on the school marque or on sticks in front of the school that say the identical issue as the stickers.
C.) Send a note residence the day ahead of delivery that says a thing like this: “Cookie dough delivery is tomorrow. Since we do not have a place to store left more than and forgotten orders, we will donate any cookie dough remaining at 6:00pm to the nearby women’s shelter in your name. If you are not able to pick up your order, please make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you. Thank you, Signed…”
Point “C” genuinely appears to function well!
