Question by tarnyboo: Need help with a Fundraiser Letter….?
The letter is for our new football team that we are starting?
The letter will be about a New Football club that we are trying to start. We will be opening up brand new club and I need some help on wording it in order to send it to a lot of donors. We will need things like equipment for the children, gear, office equipment, etc. I have a couple of thoughts, but I am not sure of how to put it together. If anyone has a sample letter for sports and can send it ti me I will appreciate it.
Thank you

Answer by hindibunni Just be sure to include these in the letter:
- A description of what you’re trying to do: what is this club for, which age groups, why is this new or different from what’s already available in the community
- An explanation of why this is important: what are the benefits to the community?
- A list/description of what you need. Indicate whether you will accept donated supplies (be specific!) or just money. (For example, you might say you need money for the uniforms & new helmets, but are willing to accept donations of office supplies & equipment.)
- If possible, describe the benefits for the person making a donation. Do they get something free? If you are asking a local business for support, will they get some advertising in return?
Close by thanking the reader for their time & reiterate that any support is appreciated.
If this football club is not specific to a certain group of children, e.g. a specific school, you can include in the “P.S.” section how someone might be able to get their own child signed up for the club. This is just another way to make the donation even more personal, if it means the person is helping their own child in a community activity.

Question by KL: What companies or corporations will probably respond to a fundraising letter?
Its for a 8th grade Washington DC field trip. Who would respond? The businesses have an option for giving either $ 15, $ 25, $ 50, $ 75, or another amount.

Answer by Just_Fundraising.com The first thing I would do is take out the numbers. There are businesses out there that would donate more than that and would see this as a cheap way out.
While I think it’s important to target your donation requests to certain companies they are probably the ones that get hit the most with requests. I would suggest asking as many as possible. You might even consider calling in advance and sending someone who can speak on your behalf. While a lot of corporations may turn this down all you need is one or two to make a Big difference. Some businesses respond well to a personal approach especially if you keep in touch with them to thank them and keep them in the loop through the year.
Good luck

Please stop the bullying. The Jubilee Project produced this video to empower people around the world to a stand against bullying through awareness and activism. There are two ways to participate in this fundraiser: 1. Become a sponsor and commit to donating a penny per view. (Of course you can put a cap on your donation). To become a sponsor, email project.jubilee@gmail.com 2. Watch and share the video. Every time the video is viewed until July 10, Jubilee Project sponsors will each donate a penny. 100% of the funds raised will go to Asian Americans United, a nonprofit organization committed to ending oppression and bullying in Philadelphia. Question by KM W: Sample Fundraiser Letter?

Answer by rhm94611 Since it is hard to tell what kind of sponsored donations you are seeking, this website is a good place to start:
Question by Shelbers: I’m writing a fundraising letter for my intercollegiate college sports team. Any pointers?
We’re handing the letter out to local businesses. I was wondering if anyone has any pointers on what should definitely be included, useful phrases, etc. The suggestions are much appreciated. By the way, we’re not asking for large donations-a couple hundred max would be very generous-I’m not sure if that should influence how I write it or not.

Answer by the tax lady Are you aware that unless you are doing the fundraiser under the auspices of a qualified charity, none of the contributors can get a tax deduction?
Many won’t donate unless they can.
